Looking Back on 2024
The New Year is here and with it lots of things to look foward to, but before that we must reflect on the year that was 2024.
We achieved a lot last year, many of which feel like forever ago but all taking placing in the past 12 months. Last January saw the launch of project Better Than Adventure (Known as BTA), taking Beta Minecraft and modding it with a wide addition of features and tweaks, beloved by many finally closing up in June.
Not long after, we said farewell to Community Server 2. Running for nearly 2 and a half years, many were sad to say goodbye to one of the best servers Existence has ever hosted.
The fun didn't stop there however, at the end of July we launched Project New Dawn which has seen us through into the New Year.
August saw the long awaited forth reunion of Existence Legacy members for another UHC battle featuring world generation and datapacks mirroring Project New Dawn that launched only a week prior. Another great reunion and UHC bringing together members from long ago.
Existence International
Not only was 2024 was big year in the virtual world, but in the real world too. I (mcpeachpies) was fortunate to travel abroad and visit many members of our community around the world. From Bananabubble, Pineapple_123 and mcnugggzs in Australia, to SugarCaney, leviandus, Marcoiscool, TheOwlGuardian and Jipfr in The Netherlands. Topping that all off with a road trip around Denmark with Yoglington.
This was an incredible trip for me, having known many people for the lifetime of Existence - it was great to meet in person and explore the world outside of New Zealand for the first time. I am beyond grateful for all my international friends and the opportunities Existence has given me over the years.

Project New Dawn
Following the closure of Community Server 2, we launched Project New Dawn to see us through to Community Server 3. The Project makes use of terrain generation datapacks to create a world like nothing ever seen on Existence before, gameplay further enhanced with datapacks and mods adding a variety of new blocks, items and features.

New Dawn continues to serve us well, running in the background as we all take some time to breathe and relax after so many years of dedicated to Community Servers.
The Project will run for another few months as Community Server 3 development kicks into gear.
The Year to Come
Community Server 3 is aimed to launch around March, aligning with the 9th anniversary of Existence. Development of the server is underway.
Following on from the success of Community Server 2, there is a lot of excitement building for what the new server may hold. We hope for Community Server 3 to run beyond the 10th anniversary of Existence in 2026.
Along with Community Server 3, there is always potential for more Project Servers. Create Season 2 is always on the table, pending mod updates and releases. Another Hardcore server has also a quiet point of conversation, along with project servers focusing on other modpacks, Minecraft versions and gameplay styles.
